A brief outline: - exposition - plot - sex - a sprinkling more plot - sex - The EndNot bad, but not complete. This could have done with some more fleshing out. A lot more fleshing out.

"The flask," Hassan said when Basil hesitated.Rowan pulled the silver flask out of his pocket. The djinn could feel the warmth of his fingers, the slosh of the scotch inside. "This thing?"Hassan nodded. "You know, like Aladdin and the magic lamp, just with more alcohol."Rowan reached forward to drop the flask on the coffee table, and then pulled it back close to his chest. He frowned. "You're a genie."Basil snarled. He wasn't some caricature of a child of fire. He was a prince and a servant, a god and a slave. "I am djinn. I don't grant wishes, not any you would want answered."Falling for your roommate can be tricky. Accidentally giving him your vessel, and consequently Mastery over you, is reckless. Admitting you might just have fallen in love with the man you holds your entire world, well that's just plain dangerous. But not dangerous as the world finding out about your new, and only, Master.Things sure do get interesting when a Royal djinn takes a human Master. This was an interesting short story from Azza Mitchell, with plenty of hot sex, a dash of danger, and sprinkling of Master, may I. I don't normally get a chance to read many djinn stories, so it is always interesting to see how each person re-imagines the folklore of the children of fire. Here we have Basil, djinn Prince, at college with he two human "servents" (or friends) and a Farie protector/history Professor. We also have very human Rowan who has some rather interesting kinks hidden behind those friendly eyes.I really enjoyed the chemistry between Rowan and Basil, and though it treaded a thin line dub-con I think if you read the whole story you will see that while the Master/djinn bond put pressure on Basil it didn't force him to do what he had already wanted. But I feel in time that Rowan and Basil are going to have to be perfectly clear as to what power Rowan has, and make sure that it is not abused. This is fairly short, so you don't get to see a lot of the relationship between the two, but I would love to read more about how they plan to keep Rowan alive, Basil "free" from outside influence, and just how they plan to go about living the rest of their lives when they have unwittingly bound themselves together without any thought to long-term problems. Plus, I'd love to see how Basil's parents react.I enjoyed it, and it was a nice quick read, so I think I'm going to give it 4 stars. Read when you want some light BDSM or a little djinn magic.

I am still not sure what this was all about. I guess it was OK until the point where Basil gave away his vessel (I counted 13 "vessels" in a 43 page book). After that: had hard time finishing; didn't care for the characters and even less for the secondary characters, couldn't follow the events or the dialog. Smoke and blur. 1.5 stars.

This is my second book that I've read in the Love Has No Boundries series entitled Children of Fire and Clay by Azza Mitchell.I do like paranormal male / male romances. This is my first that featured djinns and genies. I enjoyed it thoroughly and her writing style is  engaging. I'll be keeping an eye open for more of Ms. Mitchell's work.

Some interesting ideas that could have used more pages to do the story justice.

It's a great concept, with good world building and well-drawn characters. The transition between chapters 2-3 basically sums up my main problem with the story. (view spoiler)[At the end of 2, the MCs are having sex for the first time and Basil has just discovered he's become accidentally enslaved to his roommate and then chapter 3 opens and he's kneeling, wearing a collar and leash. I really would have liked more on how they got there. I have a pretty unlimited appetite for D/s and slave stories and I felt cheated--the premise of a Djinn prince accidentally enslaved to his human college roommate, who has a taste for dominance, is just so juicy and full of promise.(hide spoiler)] The author definitely has a great idea and has a gift for secondary characters and mixing paranormal/fantasy elements with the mundane ins and outs of attending college, and really a lot gets done in a short space here. I will definitely look for more work by her--I hope she writes a longer book set in this world.

Basil is a djinn prince, with glamour passing as a human going to college. He has wanted his roommate Rowan for a long time, (view spoiler)[and is surprised to find out that Rowan wants him too when Rowan kisses him. They start a relationship, but because Basil accidentally gave Rowan his flask, his vessel, Basil is bound to Rowan, and Rowan is his master. When Basil and Rowan is attacked by other supernaturals that wants to take the flask and the control over Basil, Basil is forced to reveal his true nature.Rowan first freaks out, but later they make up (and out). (hide spoiler)]I felt like the mythology lacked a bit, it could have used some more explanation, it wasn't all that clear who was what, and what that "what" was. There was not much chemistry between Rowan and Basil, and their relationship didn't really progress, it was just a couple of sex-scenes.

LHNB Story released 12.8.13Basil is a college student and djinn prince who starts a relationship with his human room mate, Rowan. Exchanging gifts at Christmas Basil accidentally gives Rowan his vessel, and as a result Rowan hold power over him as his master. But, other djinn and mythkin seek to kill Rowan and hold mastery over Basil. I enjoyed the story but it fell a little flat for me.

It took me a while to figure out the relationship Leila and Hassan had with Basil. But after I caught on, it was easier to follow. This felt like a hint to a bigger story. Really hope to see more of them all.

This was great! I loved getting to read about djinns and fairies, and really enjoyed all of the characters. Great world building in this, and a great answer to the photo and prompt. I agree, would also really love to read more about this gang. Thanks for a great story!

This certainly wasn't a bad read, I just didn't feel the connection between the two main characters. If anything, it felt forced to me, which just wasn't appealing personally.

Love the concept and the whole Mythkin business.however, the plotline was a little bit dull for my taste.

It was okay, it's just that parts of it were not to my taste, especially the dubcon elements. That's simply a personal thing though!
